The National Crime Victim Law Institute (NCVLI), the training and technical assistance provider for the ten national victim legal assistance networks, will be offering a three-part webinar series developed specifically for the NY Crime Victims Legal Network. These trainings will be available to all organizations that are Referral Partners to the Network.

SAVE THE DATES!

June 25, 2019:  The neurobiology of trauma with Dr. Chris Wilson, PsyD. This training provides valuable information that will assist in our provision of trauma-informed legal services.

August 7, 2019:  Privacy, Confidentiality, and Privilege with Confidentiality Institute Director, Alicia Aiken, JD.  This training can be valuable in explaining the differences in relationships between attorneys and client, advocates or case manager and clients, and sharing of information when attorneys and advocates/case managers work for the same client.

August 29, 2019:  Introduction to Victims’ Rights with NCVLI’s Executive Director, Meg Garvin and Senior Appellate Attorney, Amy Liu.  This training was specifically requested for the newly hired OVS attorneys who may be familiar with civil law practice but are new to crime victim advocacy.
